Training- Understanding ICWA (Indian Child Welfare Act)

Topic: The Indian Child Welfare Act (“ICWA”), the current constitutional challenge to ICWA (the Brackeen case), and how both affect New Mexico’s native children in state custody.
Bio: Mr. Frank graduated with honors from Arizona State University College of Law in 2003. Mr. Frank became licensed in Arizona the same year and began work as a litigation attorney primarily focused on litigating insurance disputes. In 2009 and 2010, Mr. Frank became licensed in New Mexico and the Navajo Nation and extended his practice to include Native American Law. In 2010, Mr. Frank moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and joined Moses, Dunn, Farmer & Tuthill. Mr. Frank has since become one of the Firm’s litigation attorneys with experience in insurance, commercial, banking, and employment litigation. In 2018, Mr. Frank and his wife become an ICWA foster family, licensed with the State of New Mexico.
