About the presenters: Noah is a Senior Analyst at the University of Chicago’s Center for Radical Innovation for Social Change (RISC). He leads a team of data analysts who help child welfare agencies create data-driven resource home recruitment plans through analysis of adverse placements. His team would be happy to provide pro-bono support to anyone interested in creating their own adverse placement report!

Safe Passage for Children of Minnesota trains volunteers to advocate with their elected representatives for improvements to child protection and foster care; this includes better training and additional resources, but most importantly we promote practices that reduce prolonged periods of trauma and high risk for children. This report on over 80 child fatalities from maltreatment identified a number practices that consistently contributed to the children’s deaths.
